Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains the information collection, use, and sharing practices of Vector Converter (“we,” “us,” and “our”).
Unless otherwise stated, this Policy describes and governs the information collection, use, and sharing practices of Vector Converter with respect to the Vector Converter browser extension and the website at vectorconv.com (together, the “Services”).
Before you use the Services, please review this Policy. By using any part of the Services, you understand that your information will be collected, used, and disclosed as outlined here. If you do not agree to this Policy, please do not use the Services.
Our Principles
- Privacy policies should be human readable and easy to find.
- Data collection, storage, and processing should be simplified as much as possible, to enhance security, ensure consistency, and make the practices easy for users to understand.
- Data practices should meet the reasonable expectations of users.
The images you convert
Images are converted in your browser, on your own device. A picture you open, paste, drag in, or send from a web page is never uploaded to us, and we never receive, see, or store it. The same is true of the vector files the conversion produces: they are created in your browser and saved by your browser.
This is not a promise about how carefully we keep your files. There are no files of yours on our side to keep.
Information We Collect
Information you provide directly to us
The Services have no accounts and no sign-in. You can give us information directly in two ways:
- By email — whatever you choose to put in it, for example your name and address, and whatever you write.
- Through the feedback form on the page that opens after you remove the browser extension. It asks one question — why you removed it — and sends your answer together with the extension’s version and the number of days since it was installed. It asks for no name and no email address. Answering is voluntary. The answers are received and stored for us by Google Forms, a service of Google LLC; Google’s privacy policy applies to that transmission.
Information that is automatically collected
When your browser loads a page of the website, our hosting provider records the request in its server logs, as web servers ordinarily do. A log entry may contain your IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the referring address, and your browser’s user-agent string (browser and operating system). We use these records to keep the site running and secure.
We also measure how the website is used — see Online Analytics below.
The browser extension itself sends us nothing. It makes no requests to our servers other than loading the converter page you are using, and it contains no trackers. When you remove it, Chrome opens our feedback page; that page’s address carries the extension’s version and the number of days since it was installed, and, like any page request, it is recorded in our hosting provider’s server logs and in our website analytics. We use these records to count how often the extension is removed, and after how long.
Cookies and other tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and to analyse traffic — see Online Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies.
The Services do store a few things in your own browser, which never reach us:
- Your settings — the colour theme, the last preset you used, export choices, and whether the Vectorize button on images is switched on. If Chrome sync is on, Chrome may sync some of these with your Google account; we have no access to them.
- A copy of the application — the converter, including the conversion engine, is stored by your browser so it opens quickly and works without a connection.
- The picture you are converting, for as long as the conversion needs it.
You can clear all of this at any time through your browser’s settings for site data, and by removing the extension.
Information from third parties
We do not buy information about you, and we do not collect it from data brokers, social networks, or marketing firms.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Services, keep them available, and keep them secure.
- To understand how the website is used, so we can improve it.
- To learn from the feedback form why people remove the extension, so we can improve it.
- To answer you when you write to us.
- To comply with the law and to protect the rights, property, and safety of Vector Converter, our users, and the public.
We do not use your information to build a profile of you, and we do not sell it. We do not use it to decide anything about you automatically.
When We Disclose Your Information
Service providers. Two kinds of companies process information on our behalf: the hosting provider that serves the website, and the web analytics provider described in Online Analytics. They may process it only for us and only to provide those services.
Legal. We may disclose information where we are required to by law, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
Business transfer. If Vector Converter is ever sold or merged, information may pass to the acquirer, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process the limited information described above on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services, including website analytics, and — where you write to us — to answer your message. You may object to analytics at any time, as described in Online Analytics.
Online Analytics
We use third-party web analytics services to understand how the website is used and to improve it. These services collect information such as the pages you visit, the site you came from, your approximate location, your browser and device type, and how you interact with pages — for example clicks, scrolling and mouse movements. They receive your IP address and use cookies to recognise a returning browser.
The images you convert are excluded: they never leave your device, and the parts of the page that show them are hidden from analytics.
You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser, by using a content blocker, or with the analytics provider’s opt-out add-on.
Your Choices and Data Subject Rights
You can stop all collection described here at any time by not using the website and by removing the extension. You can opt out of website analytics as described in Online Analytics, and clear what your browser has stored through its own settings.
Individuals in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and certain other jurisdictions have rights to confirmation of whether we hold information about them, to access it, and to its correction or deletion in appropriate circumstances; you may also have the right to object to or restrict our handling of it, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, write to us at the address below. We may need to verify your identity before we act, and we will answer within the period the applicable law allows. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
In practice, the only information we are likely to hold about you is an email you have sent us, server log entries, which are short-lived, and website analytics data.
International Transfers
Our hosting and analytics providers may process information in countries other than your own, which may not offer the same level of protection as the privacy laws of your jurisdiction. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides for such transfers.
Security Measures
The website is served over HTTPS, and we keep the systems we control up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that every unauthorised attempt to access information will be prevented. The strongest protection here is structural: the pictures you convert never leave your device, so there is nothing of theirs to breach.
Children
The Services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or personal data from children under 16 in the EEA. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Data Retention
Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting and are then discarded. Analytics data is kept for a limited period, as long as it helps us understand how the site is used. Email you send us is kept for as long as needed to deal with it. Answers to the feedback form are kept for as long as they help us improve the Services. Anything stored by your browser stays until you clear it.
Third-Party Links and Services
The Services may link to other websites — for example when you open an image by its address, your browser fetches that image directly from the site that hosts it. We do not control those sites, and this Policy does not apply to them.
The feedback form on the page shown after you remove the extension sends your answer to Google Forms (Google LLC), which stores it for us. The page itself is ours; it loads nothing from Google and sets no Google cookies — your answer is sent only when you press Send.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We will continue to evaluate this Policy as the Services change, and we may update it. We will post any changes on this page and revise the date above. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
